Iowa MMJ Issues Advisory to Iowa Employers on TPS Workers

On Monday, October 19th, Ukraine and Sudan's TPS designation was set to expire. The day before, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson spoke to a journalist to say that "an announcement on the future of both programs would be 'made at the appropriate time' and that individuals with TPS from Ukraine and Sudan 'would be protected (against deportation) until then." This update was not posted on the respective United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) webpages until the afternoon of the 19th. To support community members across Iowa, Iowa MMJ has put together a letter to employers on behalf of TPS holders from El Salvador, Ukraine, and Sudan. If community members need support, please call Iowa MMJ at 515-255-9809.

All families in Iowa deserve the freedom to stay and belong in the communities they call home.
